What is a brand & do i need one?

A common misconception people have about branding is that branding is optional or only for business owners. A brand is simply someone’s perception of you and what you have to offer. Everyone has a brand whether they like it or not and everyone will benefit from taking control of their own narrative. When being intentional about developing and delivering your brand, you will unlock a world of opportunity that aligns with you and your purpose. That is why we like to define your brand as your personality, gifts, talents, skills, and areas of expertise wrapped up, tied with a bow, and presented to the world.

How Do i begin developing my brand?

Branding begins with assessing who you really are, your passions, and a problem you would like to solve. Once that stage is complete you are ready to develop your unique value proposition - fancy for a way to quickly communicate who you are, what you do, and why you do it.

Next, you need a website or established digital platform. A website will serve as a centralized hub of all that you are and all that you do. Following your platform, you need a content outlet. Pick a social media platform, master it, and deliver content related to your developed value proposition. If you enjoy writing, adding a blog to your website is a great way to get content out there and grow your brand.

You want to be known for something and even if you don’t have a catchy slogan like Bill Nye, you want what you offer to be clear and memorable to everyone that meets you or hears about you.
